Small Coffee Bar instructions
1. Paint the Crates and Blanks for the Small Coffee Station
For this project, I grabbed three wooden blanks and four or five little mini crates. I placed some wax paper down to cover my surface and I’ll be using rubber gloves to protect my hands.
I will be using folk art home decor wood tint in the color Walnut. I put some of the wood tint in a glass jar and used my paint brush to spread it on. I painted the inside and outside of each box. There are a lot of ways you can do this depending on how dark you want it. You can paint it on and then wipe off the excess with a dry cloth or just let the stain soak in for a darker look. I love this wood tint because it’s water-based so it cleans up super easily and is really easy to work with. I knew I needed four boxes but I painted a fifth just in case. I let all of these dry completely.
While those are drying I grabbed the wood blanks and repeated the same painting process painting the front, back, and sides.
2. Let all of the wood pieces dry completely
Once they were all done I let them dry completely.
3. Assemble the small coffee station
Now that everything is dry it’s time to assemble everything. I added hot glue to one of the sides of the little boxes and then I adhered it to one side of the wood blanks so that it could stand up vertically.
I hot glued the side of another box and this one I placed it at the other end of the same wood blank. I repeated this process with another set of boxes and a blank.
Next, I took the last wood blank and glued it between the two completed sets.
4. Fill the small coffee station with supplies
Now that everything’s assembled let’s talk about all the ways you can use this little stacking station. First, I’m making a coffee or snack station. I started by adding some tea to the top in a variety of flavors and then I added some snacks. Next to that, I added some K-Cups in different flavors and some hot chocolate. In the last top section, I added some travel cups and a creamer. I used the fifth wood box for a few more snacks.
Here’s a look at the whole snack station all setup and ready to go for a guest in our guest room. Next to that, I added some water and of course the coffee machine.
Now let’s quickly go over some other ways you could use this. I placed this in my kitchen and I’m simply adding some seasonings so I have an easy grab seasoning station.
I placed it on my kitchen counter and added colored pencils, markers, post-it notes, glue and rulers for a craft or school station.
I was able to add it to my Easy DIY Dollar Tree Plastic Crate Shelves.
